Early Help Practitioners Survey 2017 now open for responses

Views are being sought from practitioners in education, health and social care, and the voluntary and community sector, to help shape Shropshire’s Early Help service.

Early Help offers support and guidance to families to help meet the needs of their children, through offering parents early solutions to challenges that arise at home.

Shropshire Strengthening Families

The service involves organisations from a range of public, voluntary and community sectors, who work together to provide families with the right support at the right time. It can be required at any stage in a child’s life, from pre-birth to adulthood, and applies to any problem or need that the family can’t deal with alone.

Karen Bradshaw, Shropshire Council’s director for children’s services at Shropshire Council said:

“We know that preventative services can do more to reduce problems emerging in families than reactive services, and it is only right that we as partners are focusing increasingly on early help and prevention services for families.

“Working in partnership is key to the Early Help approach, and understanding the experiences of Early Help practitioners from all services is essential in order to understand effectiveness and inform service development. This will ensure we establish a more co-ordinated and structured approach to this crucial role.

“Whether you work in education, health, social care, the voluntary sector, the community sector or another type of organisation, your feedback is important. Not only will your views and suggestions inform the way our Early Help services are run, and changes that will assist practitioners, but it will also hugely benefit those children and families who need early help support.”
