Essential resurfacing works on the A49 south of Shrewsbury

Kier will be carrying out essential resurfacing works on the A49 on behalf of Highways England from later this month. Work will be carried out at various locations from the A489/A49 Junction to the north of Craven Arms, to the Condover junction just south of Bayston Hill.
The details of the projects are:
A49 Stapleton to Condover pavement
Planned start date: 20 June 2016
Planned completion date: 22 July 2016
Hours of work: 8pm to 6am
A49/B5477 Church Stretton resurfacing
Planned start date: 15 August 2016
Planned completion date: 20 September 2016
Hours of work: 8pm to 6am
A49/A489 Henley Lane resurfacing
Planned start date: 26 September 2016
Planned completion date: 13 October 2016
Hours of work: 8pm to 6am
These dates are subject to change, dependent on weather conditions and possible programme improvements. Local residents will be kept fully informed of any amendments to the works schedule.
Traffic restrictions
Full closure of A49 at various locations between the B4368/A49 roundabout at Craven Arms and at the A5/A49 Bayston Hill roundabout.
Road users will be advised of the location of closures at the B4368/A49 junction at Craven Arms and the A5/A49 Bayston Hill roundabout and be advised to follow the diversion route from these locations.
A49 Stapleton to Condover pavement
There will be a 40mph daytime speed restriction from the existing 50mph gateway just north of Limes Paddock, Dorrington, to the end of the layby/paved area on the northbound side of the road between Little Lyth and Bayston Hill.
Side roads and junctions throughout the closure extents will be restricted during working hours.
The closure points will be approximately 400 metres south of the Bridge Inn at the Bulkright turn (south end) and at the Condover turn to the south of Bayston Hill (north end).
Access to properties within the closure will be maintained.
A49/B5477 Church Stretton resurfacing
The closure points will at the junction of B4371/A49 at Church Stretton (south end) and at Station Road, Leebotwood (north end).
Side roads and junctions throughout the closure extents will be restricted during working hours.
Access to properties within the closure will be maintained.
A49/A489 Henley Lane resurfacing
The closure points will be at the junction of A489/A49 Junction (south end) and at B4371/A49 Junction at Church Stretton (north end).
Side roads and junctions throughout the closure extents will be restricted during working hours.
Access to properties within the closure will be maintained.
Diversion routes
Northbound diversion: At the junction of the A49/B4368 at Craven Arms, take the B4368 eastbound. Continue along the B4368 to Morville. At the junction of the B4368/A458, turn left onto the A458. Continue northbound on the A458, through Much Wenlock, to the junction with the A5. Join the A5 westbound and continue to Bayston Hill Roundabout to re-join the A49.
Southbound diversion: At the junction of the A49/A5 at Bayston Hill Roundabout, take the A5 eastbound. Exit the A5 onto the A458. Continue southbound on the A458, through Much Wenlock, to the junction with the B4368 at Morville. Turn right onto the B4368 and continue westbound to re-join the A49 at Craven Arms.
