Joyful evening of music to be held at Severn Valley Country Park
Shropshire Council rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are delighted to be welcoming popular singing group, Severn Singers and brass ensemble, Random Brass for their only joint performance this year, on Friday 20 May 2016 at 6.45pm.
Severn Singers are returning to the park after a successful performance last year and Random Brass, who are a versatile and experienced group of musicians based around a traditional brass quintet, frequently perform in Shropshire.
Musical director of Severn Singers, Rory Freckleton has composed a piece for Random Brass called “Serenata” and this will be a big feature of the first half of the performance. Severn Singers will be performing their usual eclectic mix of numbers. Mr Freckleton said:-
“Our programme will encompass motets from the Tudor period to present day popular numbers.”
This will be the first time Random Brass have performed at the country park, and Paul Kelly from the group said:-
“It will be a fun programme, complementing the Severn Singers to give a joyful evening of music.”
