Decisions made by Central planning committee on 28 April 2016

The following decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s Central planning committee at its meeting at Shirehall, Shrewsbury on Thursday 28 April 2016.

  • Proposed temporary closure of New College Road at London Road, Shrewsbury.  Decision: That, contrary to the officer’s recommendation, the implementation of a temporary Traffic Regulation Order and closure of New College Road for access by all motor vehicles at its junction with London Road, be refused; and that a further proposal to formalise the existing temporary Traffic Regulation Order closure of the Wenlock Road/New College Road junction be submitted to a future meeting.
  • Land adjacent to the A5, Kinton, Shrewsbury, SY4 1AZ (15/05462/EIA)  Erection of four poultry rearing buildings, biomass building, ten feed bins and other ancillary buildings, landscaping including ground modelling and tree planting, construction of a surface water attenuation feature and new access.  Decision:That planning permission be granted as per the Officer’s recommendation; subject to:The Conditions as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, subject to: Condition No. 10 being amended to ensure that external lighting is designed to minimise adverse impact on the surrounding area as well as to minimise disturbance to bats, to reflect the comments made in paragraph 6.4.9 of the report: and the following additional Condition:

    No development approved by this permission shall commence until details of existing and proposed finished floor levels have been approved in writing by the local planning authority.  Reasons: To safeguard the visual amenities of the area.

  • Proposed affordable dwelling, Westbury, Shrewsbury (16/00120/FUL)  Erection of 1no affordable dwelling and detached garage.  Decision:  That this application be deferred to a future meeting for further clarification to be provided on the floor area of the proposed dwelling and the concerns expressed at the meeting by highways officers.
  • Top Farm, Kinton, Shrewsbury, SY4 1AZ (16/00451/FUL)  Erection of agricultural storage building.  Decision: That, subject to the conditions as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, planning permission be granted as per the Officer’s recommendation.
