World music group Project Jam Sandwich to perform at Helena Lane this Friday
World music group Project Jam Sandwich will be performing at Helena Lane this Friday 22 April.
The concert from 10.30 am till 12pm midday, is in celebration Yehudi Menuhin’s 100th birthday and forms part of a series of concerts around the country organised by Live Music Now and Creative Inspiration Shropshire, to commemorate the Centenary birthday of the world famous violinist and conductor.
The event is free, in particularly to wheelchair users and people with mobility issues, thanks to funding from the Bruce Wake charitable fund, but donations are gratefully accepted.
Project Jam Sandwich are a 5-piece (violin, cello, guitar, bass, percussion, vocals) band from Manchester. From reels to rumba to reggae the group dare their audiences to sample unconventional music, be that afrobeat, gypsy jazz or traditional Irish tunes. So audiences can expect beautiful melody, dizzying virtuosity, high-octane grooves and a tour-de-force of joy and performance.
Whether you’re a hard-core folky, world music fan or simply curious, their eclectic approach means there is something for everyone and anyone.

Project Jam Sandwich are a dynamic, award winning group who perform a vibrant range of world music. They performed last year in SpArK as part of Shropshire Music Trust’s programme and went down brilliantly which is why we have invited them back and are keen to enable them to reach some of our community who won’t be able to go to the evening performance in Broseley.
