A458 at Cross Houses set to reopen later today after emergency closure

The A458 at Cross Houses is due to reopen later today (Friday 15 April) following work by BT to repair a failed manhole near to The Hollies junction.

After removing the manhole cover this morning, BT engineers found that the concrete chamber below is undamaged. Therefore, work should be completed this afternoon.

In order that the road can reopen as soon as possible, Shropshire Council has instructed BT to leave the site under two-way lights once the repair work is completed, to allow for the tarmac to cure yet protect it from being driven over and prevent any further inconvenience.

A diversion route will remain in place until the road is reopened.
