February half-term events at Severn Valley Country Park
Staff at Severn Valley Country Park are currently preparing for February 2016 half term. The visitor centre and tea shop will be open every day between Saturday 13 February and Sunday 21 February from 11am-4pm. Tasty cakes, made to order sandwiches, homestyle soup and many other delicious snacks will be available daily.
In addition to the extra opening, there will be some exciting children’s events held throughout the week. On Wednesday 17 February the team is delighted to be welcoming Gillian Hales from the Chelmarsh Owl Sanctuary. Gillian will be bringing 10 owls with her and the children will be able to take a closer look at these magnificent birds. There will be two sessions (10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm) and, as well as meeting the owls, the children will be able to help dissect an owl pellets, learn how to identify different owl calls and make their own owl to take home. The cost is £4.50 per child and this includes a donation to help support the valuable work carried out by the Chelmarsh Owl Sanctuary.
On Friday 19 February you can join rangers for a fun nature trail and scavenger hunt around the park. There are two sessions, either 10.30am-12pm or 1.30-3pm. The cost is £3.50 per child (adults free) and for all our school holiday events under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.
For all events, booking is essential and you can call 01746 781192 to book your place.
