St Chad’s Church – the venue for the Carol Service

University Centre Shrewsbury staff and students are urging people to join voices with them at the institution’s inaugural Christmas Carol Service.

The Christmas Service at St Chad’s Church on Thursday 17 December 2015 is open to all.

People are invited to come along from 5pm to 6pm for music, prayers and readings at the Church at St Chad’s Terrace, next to The Quarry.

Carols in the service include “O little town of Bethlehem”, “God rest you merry, gentlemen” and “Hark! The herald angels sing”.

Professor Anna Sutton, Provost of University Centre Shrewsbury, said:

“Everyone is invited to celebrate Christmas with us at the beautiful St Chad’s Church.

“We are also taking part in the Church’s Christmas Tree Festival, sponsoring one of 40 trees which follow the unique circular shape of the Church, for a spectacular display.

“The Service will be a wonderful way to mark the end of the first term of the 2015/16 academic year. It began with introducing our pioneering undergraduates to the town and will draw to a close with the community which has given them such a warm welcome.”
