On Tuesday 24 November 2015, the day before White Ribbon Day, Shropshire Countywide Domestic Abuse Forum held a special White Ribbon meeting at Shirehall in Shrewsbury

Organisations and agencies including National Probation Service, West Mercia Police, children’s services, public health, and the specialist domestic abuse services Refuge, SEEDS Shropshire, South Shropshire DV Services, West Mercia Women’s Aid, from across Shropshire joined together to reflect on this significant international campaign for standing against violence against women.

To find more about the White Ribbon campaign and how it was started, visit the White Ribbon Campaign UK.

Partners at this special meeting were also learning about the White Ribbon campaign in Australia, and the Forum members were particularly interested after a recent visit from Steve O’Malley, a firefighter and White Ribbon Ambassador from Australia.

On his visit to the UK, Steve shared an Australian White Ribbon advert, and partners at the White Ribbon meeting were encouraged to view this and share this with others.
