Teenage Book Award 2015 to be launched on 23 September
Following on from the successful first year of the Shropshire Teenage Book Award, which Bali Rai’s “Web Of Darkness” won, the Schools Library Service are pleased to be hosting the launch of the second Shropshire Teenage Book Award on 23 September 2015.
The launch event, at Shirehall, Shrewsbury on Wednesday 23 September at 10.30am, will feature author Stuart Hill talking about his books and offering a book signing. Pupils from a cross-section of local secondary schools will be attending the free event.
Ann Hartley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for children’s services, said:-
“This award is a great way to encourage the county’s teenagers to read more, and once librarians have decided on a longlist later shortly, young people will have their chance to vote for their favourite book of the year. I look forward to finding out the winning book next year.”
The Schools Library Service is part of Inspire to learn, a wide-ranging education service package that’s built on the solid foundation of Shropshire Council’s education support services, combined with inspiration and innovation from ip&e.
