Working Together to host its Diversity Club at Helena Lane in Ludlow
News from our partners Working Together
Working Together will soon be hosting a weekly club for people with learning disabilities at Shropshire Council’s Helena Lane Day Centre in Ludlow.
Working Together is a charity which has been running a successful fortnightly Diversity Club from various venues for around seven years.
The Diversity Club offers people over the age of 25 with learning disabilities the opportunity to get involved in lots of fun activities including baking sessions, keep fit classes, diners’ evening and Ceilidh dancing.
Richard Geuter, Working Together’s Co-ordinator, said:
“Working Together is all about ‘enriching’ the lives of our members and making these experiences available to all.
“Hosting our Diversity Club at Helena Lane will allow us to run it every week, instead of every other week as it is now. We are confident that the club has great possibilities, will benefit members and their carers, and provide a useful building block for people to help each other out.”
Lee Chapman, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for adult services, said:
“We’re pleased to be able to offer Helena Lane as a regular venue for the Diversity Club. It’s a great facility with lots to offer and we’re hoping even more people will benefit.”
As well as the Diversity Club, Working Together also provides training and voluntary work opportunities for members at their cafe in the centre of Ludlow, run a weekly youth club, an enterprise project and a healthy living project, as well as lots of other activities and events.
They have over 35 members with learning disabilities and put on various activities at various locations in and around Ludlow.
