The StrettonDale Local Joint Committee (LJC) has an interesting meeting planned for Thursday 12 February 2015 at Rushbury Village Hall at 7pm.

The main item will be the Care Act, which comes into force in April and brings about changes to adult social care.

Representatives from Shropshire Council will be present to give an overview of the act and adult social care in the county.

Also on the agenda will be a discussion around the plans to support youth activity in the LJC area through the youth commissioning approach by Shropshire Council.

Tim Barker, chairman of the LJC, said:

“The Care Act and adult social care are likely to affect many of us at some point. We would all gain from being better informed about this topic, and I would encourage you to come along and ask any questions.”

The meeting will also include an update from the Church Stretton local policing team regarding local crime and safety initiatives, and reports on news and events from the parishes that form the LJC.

Representatives from the local policing team will be available from 6.30pm if you wish to discuss any matters on a one-to-one basis.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting and to take part in the discussions.
