Oswestry residents benefit from Winter Warmer Packs donation
Liberty Gas, who work in partnership with Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing, have donated 25 winter warmer packs to the Oswestry Food Bank.
It is intended, where possible, for these winter packs to go to vulnerable STAR Housing tenants to help support them through the winter period. The pack contains a variety of items, which include tinned food, chocolate biscuits and porridge oats.
Present at the official donation of the winter warmer packs were, Phil Simpson Oswestry food bank, Hayley Bridge tenant liaison officer Liberty Gas and Caroline Morris ST&RH Housing.
Caroline Morris, Financial Inclusion Manager at Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing, said:
“We are always looking for ways to support our tenants and it’s great that our partners are sharing in these values. The winter warmer packs Liberty are providing will help some of our vulnerable tenants through the cold weeks ahead.”
The Oswestry food bank provides an invaluable service to local people in need and are staffed entirely by local and friendly volunteers.
Liberty Gas are responsible for handling heating and repairs and servicing on behalf of STAR Housing.
Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing are an arm’s length management organisation, who took responsibility for the management of 4200 homes owned by Shropshire Council in April 2013.
