Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing tenants can find out more about home swaps, financial and energy saving advice, and also get their dog chipped, at an event in Shifnal next Wednesday 14 May.

The event is being held at the Methodist Church, Victoria Road from 10:30am to 3:00pm, where housing officers and other organisations will be on hand to talk to tenants on a range of housing queries, energy saving advice and pet care.

Representatives from Severn Trent Water will be available to offer advice and support to tenants on saving money on their energy and water bills.

The Dogs Trust will also be offering tenants’ who are dog owners, free micro chipping for their four legged friends. Sessions will start from 11am through to 3pm.

Emma Feely, Involvement and Empowerment Officer at Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing said;

“Our Shifnal event is a great opportunity for tenants to come and meet and have a chat with your local housing officer. We can offer a wealth of housing advice and support from mutual exchanges and repairs to reporting anti-social behaviour.

“Events like this are invaluable for staying connected to our community so that we can continue giving the best possible service to our residents.

“Tenants will be able to pick up money saving tips and advice and if you’re a dog owner can get your four legged friend chipped free of charge!”

Refreshments will be available throughout the day.  For more information about the event or about Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing visit the website at www.starhousing.org.uk. You can also follow us on Facebook by searching for “Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing” or on twitter @star_housing.
