The Severn Valley Country Park, part of Shropshire Council Outdoor Recreation service, is happy to announce a special evening of art.

Local Shropshire artist Diane Jennings will be hosting an art demonstration in the visitor centre which will allow visitors to discover the joy of painting with oils and acrylics.

Diane is a self-taught, professional artist who has worked from her studios in Ludlow for the past 12 years. Diane’s paintings are found in several UK and international private collections and she regularly hosts painting demonstrations and workshops at various locations around the county.

During the evening, Diane will demonstrate how to paint two pictures in oils and acrylics. Using both a white and black canvas, the paintings will develop before your eyes as Diane explains the techniques she uses. At the end of the evening, there will be a raffle for the paintings, so two lucky visitors will be taking home a piece of original art.

Visitor Centre Manager Susie Comaish said:

“We are very happy to welcome Diane to the Severn Valley Country Park. The park is such a beautiful place that it provides the perfect back drop for an artistic evening. We hope that the demonstration will inspire visitors to find their inner artist!”

The event will be held on Thursday 15th May from 7.30pm-9pm. Ticket cost £5 Adults and £3 Children. Ticket price includes a hot drink and slice of cake. Please call 01746 781 192 for more information or to book your place.
