Tweet us your questions about safe use of the Internet and social media
Twitter users are being given the chance to put questions to experts about the safe use of the Internet and social media, particularly by children and young people.
On Thursday 6 March 2014 Shropshire’s Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) is holding an event in Shrewsbury that will explore the safe use of social media for organisations, staff and young people, and update professionals on current legislation and guidance around e-safety.
Ahead of the event, the Board is encouraging people to submit questions via twitter – with all questions being put to experts at the event, before the answers are tweeted in response via the @shropshireyouth twitter account.
To ask a question simply sign-in to twitter and tweet your questions before 4pm on 6 March using the hashtag #SSCB14 – remembering to limit questions to 140 characters.
You can then follow @shropshireyouth on the day to see a live feed from the event.
The free event, which is fully booked, is aimed at professionals and volunteers who are designated/safeguarding leads and e-safety champions within their organisation.
Jon Mills, SSCB’s Voluntary and Community sector representative, said
“This is a great opportunity for people to put their questions to our experts, without needing to be at the event.
“We’re really looking forward to receiving and answering people’s questions about e-safety and how we can ensure that children and young people stay safe when they’re using social media.”
