Guided walk at Severn Valley Country Park

Outdoor recreation staff at Severn Valley Country Park are inviting visitors to join them on a nine-mile guided walk on Wednesday 26 February 2014.

The circular walk starts at the country park and follows a route through Alveley over Romsley Hill and along the Shropshire and Staffordshire border to Tuck Hill.  At Tuck Hill there will be the opportunity to view the wonderful display of snowdrops at Holy Innocents churchyard.  The church will also be open to look round.  The congregation and Rev Ward have been thanked for opening the church.  After lunch the party will return to the park, taking in fine views of Shropshire hills.

This walk is a great way to achieve the daily target of 10,000 steps as recommended by the NHS.  It is said that a brisk 10-minute walk is equivalent to 1,000 steps.  The walk starts at the visitor centre at 10am and will return by 3.30pm.

Visitors joining the country park rangers are asked to bring a packed lunch with a drink, as breaks will be taken along the way, and also to wear walking boots due to muddy paths.  Please bring waterproofs in case of wet weather.

Booking is essential, so for more details or to book a place, please call 01746 781192.  Charge for adults is £3, for children £1.50.
