Over 40 of Shropshire’s voluntary organisations will come together next week to offer information about their services and the support they offer.

The Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly Market Place Event will be held on Thursday 10 October 2013 from 10am to 2pm at the Council Chamber, Shirehall, Shrewsbury.

Shropshire Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly has organised the event on behalf of its members, and it follows on from a highly successful event held in January 2013.  The assembly has more than 280 members, and provides a way for local groups and voluntary organisations to work effectively with each other and other public groups and organisations.

Community, charitable, voluntary and other organisations which will set up stands on the day include: Axis Counselling, Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Fairshare Credit Union Ltd, Shropshire Seniors, Aquarius, Figaro CIC, Shropshire Support Partnership, Autism West Midlands, Headway Shropshire, and many more.

Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member, said:

“This event is free and is open to all who have an interest in services offered by the sector.  It really is a great way to find out about the wide range of services the sector provides, as well as what new ideas it has for delivering these services in the future.

“We will be delighted if you can join us and look forward to welcoming you to the event.”
