Join the Conversation: open discussions on budgets and public services
The public sector in Shropshire faces huge spending cuts in the coming years. The changes that ensue will undoubtedly impact on your local services, so we want to hear from you and understand what you want and need from public services.
Do you have ideas as to how things could run more efficiently? What services do you consider a priority? We want to hear from you.
We are holding a series of events around the county where you can “Join the Conversation” and pose questions to senior representatives from Shropshire Council, the police, the fire and rescue service, and Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group..
The evenings are scheduled as follows:
- Monday 16 September 2013 – Castle View – Council Chamber, Oswestry
- Tuesday 17 September 2013 – Craven Arms Community Centre
- Wednesday 18 September 2013 – Tasley Village Hall, Bridgnorth (WV16 4NW)
- Friday 20 September 2013 – Theatre Severn – Walker Theatre, Shrewsbury
Each event will run from 7pm until 9pm.
The new venue for the Bridgnorth event, Tasley Village Hall, replaces the previously-announced Westgate.
The events will be presented by Eric Smith of BBC Radio Shropshire. Eric has a keen interest in the future of the county, and will be on hand to help the audience communicate their questions to the panel.
Keith Barrow, Leader of Shropshire Council said:
“I really want to hear what Shropshire people think about the spending cuts and any other issues that affect their lives in Shropshire, so why not come along to our public meetings and let us know how you feel about living in Shropshire.”
