Residents who would like to find out more about Shropshire Council’s Connecting Shropshire project are invited to attend the next Much Wenlock and Shipton Local Joint Committee (LJC) meeting on Wednesday 17 July 2013 at Shipton Village Hall.

Chris Taylor, who is the broadband programme manager, will be at the meeting to give the latest update on the broadband programme, and will also let residents know how they can continue to receive information.

People attending will also be able to find out about what impact London2012 and Much Wenlock’s Olympian connection has actually had on the town.  Emma-Kate Lanyon from Shropshire Council’s visitor economy team will talk about some of the projects that took place during this time, and how successful they have been.

Also present will be councillors from the town and parish councils and Shropshire Council, to discuss any other important issues that residents may want to raise at the meeting.

Shropshire Councillor David Turner said:

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about faster broadband speeds and to reflect on the success of the London2012 activities.  I hope that many local residents will come along.  This is also an opportunity to raise local concerns with councillors and the police.”

Members of the local policing team will be in attendance to listen to any concerns or issues.
