Hundreds of jobs on way as next phase of Tern Valley Business Park begins
Shropshire Council has signed a deal with Shrewsbury-based developer Redstart Construction Limited to develop Phase 2 of Tern Valley Business Park in Market Drayton.
Phase 2 of the site covers up to 13 acres and, once complete, could accommodate over 200,000 sq ft of floorspace, and create over 600 jobs .
The deal with Redstart will see them initially develop 14,000 sq ft of serviced offices and 9000 sq ft of small workshops .
Phase 2 of the site will cater for the needs of expanding local businesses and new inward investment. Plots are available on 999 year leases.
Councillor Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for business growth said:
“We’re delighted to have signed this deal with Redstart that we hope will help to create hundreds of jobs in Market Drayton, and I wish Redstart every success.
“The council’s investment at Tern Valley demonstrates our commitment to stimulating jobs and business in the county, particularly in our market towns, during these difficult economic times.”
The buildings at the site will meet the Building Research Establishment’s environmental standards for eco-efficiency and sustainability in construction to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard.
Situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, the Tern Valley site is within easy reach of Telford and Shrewsbury and 15 miles from the M6.
The site is being marketed by Spencer Evans and Shropshire Council .
