Ludlow and Clee Local Joint Committee – come along and get involved

Related topics: Community / Democracy

The next meeting of the Ludlow and Clee Local Joint Committee will be held at Bishop Hooper’s School, Ashford Carbonel on Thursday 20 June.

The meetings are an opportunity for local residents and businesses to ask any questions they have, hear presentations from local community leaders and suggest items to be included in the next meeting.

At 6.15pm there will be a guided tour around the school by Headteacher Kerri Phelps, then from 6.30pm there will be a Police PACT session, where you can speak to a member of the Local Policing Team about any concerns you have.

The meeting then starts at 7pm and will include an update from the Police and Fire services on local activity and initiatives. There will also an update from Chris Edwards, Shropshire Council’s southern area commissioner will be talking about the future for Shropshire Council and how the Commissioning work in Church Stretton will influence how the Council works in the future.

Rosanna Taylor-Smith, Shropshire Councillor and chair of the meeting, said:

“Ludlow and Clee LJC meets three times a year, and the items discussed are ideas from the general public – at this meeting we will be asking, what concerns, questions or comments you would like to make to Police and Crime Commissioner, Bill Longmore when he comes to our October meeting.

“We would encourage residents of Ludlow and its surrounding parishes to come along and find out about local matters and raise any questions they have for the local police team, their Shropshire Councillors and officers and also their Town and Parish Councillors.”

Ludlow and Clee Local Joint Committee has a budget to assist local community projects – 12 grants will be considered at this meeting, with the remaining budget available for local groups to apply for the next round.
