Successful deep clean after Ludlow’s Mayfair
Ludlow residents, businesses and visitors can now enjoy a more pleasant town centre following a deep clean by Shropshire Council’s environmental maintenance team earlier this week (Tuesday 7 May 2013).
The clean, which focused on Castle Square, Mill Street, Dinham, Market Street, High Street, Church Street, Raven Lane and Castle Square Car Park, took place between 6am and 9am after the town’s annual Mayfair.
To keep any disruption to a minimum, work to sweep the roads, pick up litter, remove flyposting and graffiti was carried out whilst the road closure for the town centre was in place, and also before the town centre businesses opened their doors for shoppers.
Rosanna Taylor-Smith, Shropshire Councillor for Ludlow North, said:
“I hope residents and businesses noticed how clean and tidy the centre of town was following the deep clean that took place directly after the annual Mayfair. We are now ready for the Spring Food Festival and look forward to welcoming many visitors to the town this weekend.”
