Shropshire Council’s leisure services team, in partnership with Shropshire Area Rounders League, will launch a brand new opportunity for women to partake in rounders in a just-for-fun environment on Wednesday 5 June 2013.

Women are encouraged to turn up and have a go regardless of age, experience or fitness levels.

Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, said:

“The ‘Turn up and Play’ rounders sessions are aimed at attracting new players into the sport, as well as re-engaging with women who haven’t played for a few years, perhaps since school.  These fun sessions will give women the chance to get back into rounders.”

With funding from Rounders England, people are able to enjoy these sessions free of charge every Wednesday evening throughout the summer at Lacon Childe School field, Cleobury Mortimer, from 6.30pm – 7.30pm.
