Shropshire Council is excited to announce the launch of synchronised swimming lessons in Much Wenlock on Saturday 25 May, with two free taster sessions. The first took place on Tuesday  7 May and the second will take place on Tuesday 14 May.

Swim teachers from Much Wenlock Leisure Centre are poised to take their first classes after successfully completing a course developed by two of the country’s top synchronised swimming stars.

STA’s Zoe Cooper and Beth Smith, who are both members of the synchronised dance troupe Aquabatique, developed the training course for STA after their performances on TV’s Britain’s Got Talent show last year saw a surge in interest in the sport.   STA are international experts in safety training solutions.  Their underwater talents resulted in an upsurge of inquiries about synchronised swimming lessons, which led STA to ask Zoe and Beth to revamp its synchronised swimming teaching programme.

The lessons, for children and adults, will run every Saturday from 1pm – 2pm from  25 May and cost £4.50 per session.

The second taster session will run on Tuesday 14 May from 3.45pm – 4.30pm. Afterwards, Zoe Cooper, who hails from Shrewsbury, will take part in a demonstration.
