The next Business Start-up Club in Oswestry will take place at the Guildhall from 5.30pm until 7pm on Tuesday 12 March 2013.

Set up by Shropshire Council, Oswestry Town Council and Shropshire Enterprise, these regular sessions offer young business-minded people (aged from 18 to 30) free information and support.

They focus on basic start up information and help young people put together a simple business plan, as well as help with sales and marketing, access to finance and promoting their new enterprise.

Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for business support, said:

“These clubs are proving to be a great success, and I’d encourage more young people to take advantage of the free advice on offer.  They also offer an excellent opportunity for young people to meet like-minded individuals.”

Keith Barrow, Shropshire Councillor for Oswestry South, said:

“A great deal can be gained from talking to others who have similar goals, and these clubs are the ideal place to do this.”

Martin Bennett, a Shropshire Councillor for Oswestry East, said:

“I would encourage every young person who may be interested in starting their own business to come to the event and find out what is involved and how they can be their own boss.”

Vince Hunt, Shropshire Councillor for Oswestry West, said:

“I continue to be very impressed at the ideas and resolve that the young people making use of this have.  I am sure some have the potential to go on and be the business leaders of the future.  I would urge any other youngsters who have an idea to make use of this chance to develop their business plan.”

Tickets are free, but registration is absolutely essential, via http://startupclubsoswestry-eorg.eventbrite.com/

Start-up clubs are being run in Oswestry for a year.  They started on 9 October 2012, and take place every second Tuesday of the month.  They also connect all new young start-ups to the Young Britain campaign that has launched in the county.
