Famous farm welcomes visitors for 2013
Acton Scott Historic Working Farm opens for the 2013 season today (Thursday 28 March 2013), after being closed due to snow and ice earlier this week.
A new offer has been introduced for 2013 which enables a child, senior or adult day ticket to be converted to a season pass (free of charge) on the day of purchase. The offer allows you access to the farm through until Sunday 3 November for no additional cost.
Families can also enjoy the new welcome pack that each child will receive, and can find out more about the ever-popular rare-breed animals at the farm through new information boards.
The farm’s events diary for the year celebrates rural and Victorian themes. From traditional ways of working with wood, to an opportunity to come to the farm dressed up in the Victorian attire, the year will have plenty for everyone.
Michael Turner, Manager at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, said:
“We’re geared up and looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors to the farm in 2013. Our new ticketing system means that visitors, young or old, families or individuals, can just keep coming back. So, whether you want to drop in from time-to-time to see the horses at work, come every Tuesday to watch the blacksmith at the forge, or just want to soak up the special atmosphere of Acton Scott and grab a cup of tea when it suits you, 2013 is the year to do it.”
Once open, Acton Scott Historic Working Farm is straight into its Easter weekend programme when there are fun activities for families each day. Good Friday sees the Cracking Egg Challenge with various egg-based teasers to try. Saturday’s Egg-ceptional Quiz will test visitor’s knowledge, while Sunday sees morning and afternoon Easter Egg hunts. With Easter Monday being 1 April, be prepared for some foolish fun.
Acton Scott Historic Working Farm is open from Thursday 28 March to Sunday 3 November 2013, Tuesdays – Fridays 10am – 4.30pm; Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays 10.30am – 5pm. The farm is closed on Mondays except Bank Holidays.
Day tickets are priced £9.50 for adults, £9 for seniors and £6 for children aged 4 to 17. Under 4s are admitted free of charge.
