South planning committee – decisions 26 February 2013

The following planning decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s south planning committee at its meeting on Tuesday 26 February 2013 in Bridgnorth.

Land at Kerry Green, Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire (12/02006/FUL)

Erection of three dwellings and formation of vehicular accesses.

Withdrawn from the agenda.

Upper Baveney Farm, Cleobury Mortimer, Kidderminster, DY14 8LF (12/03071/FUL)

Change of use from agriculture to B1/B2 and new building for B1 use. 

Decision:  That, following receipt of an offer of land to improve the junction onto the B4363, the application be deferred in order that the proposal could be further assessed by Highway Officers and a further consultation exercise to be undertaken with consultees.

Ship Cottage, Severnside, Highley, Bridgnorth, Shropshire (12/03321/FUL)

Erection of a two storey extension to rear and alterations.    

Decision:  That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation, subject to the following: 

  • In order to safeguard the character and ensure an appropriate external appearance, the use of reclaimed materials be negotiated with the applicant.  

Former J A G Glazing Ltd, Vaughan Road, Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire, DY14 8DU (12/03689/FUL)

Erection of 16 two storey houses with ancillary garages and parking, associated infrastructure, open space, including improved access.  

Decision:  That the application be deferred in order for the applicant to give consideration to including single storey dwellings suitable for the elderly and disabled, and higher value homes.  

Proposed Residential Development, land north of Haughton Road, Shifnal, Shropshire (12/04646/OUT)

Outline application (access) for residential development; erection of a community swimming pool, a medical centre and community allotments, with associated parking, public open space, including balancing pond, and associated earthworks and other ancillary works. 

Decision:  That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation, subject to: 

  • A Section 106 Agreement relating to affordable housing provision and the financial contribution towards the swimming pool; and

The conditions as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, together with the additional condition as set out on the update sheet requiring approval and implementation of off-site traffic management measures along Haughton Road / Haughton Lane. 

94 Damson Lane, Weston Heath, Sheriffhales, Shropshire, TF11 8RU (12/05084/FUL)

Change of use of existing garage to granny annexe. 

Decision:  That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation. 

Land adjacent 35 Coalport Road, Broseley, Shropshire, TF12 5AN (12/05253/FUL)

Erection of a bungalow with single garage and formation of new vehicular access. 

Decision:  That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation, subject to the following:

  • A Section 106 Agreement relating to an affordable housing contribution; and
  • In order to protect the amenities of neighbouring properties from potential noise nuisance, and to ensure satisfactory drainage, the driveway be constructed of a permeable, hard surface.  

Land south of The Royal Oak, Alveley, Shropshire (13/00035/FUL)

Erection of a combined stable and agricultural barn on land adjacent to the Royal Oak public house (amended submission). 

Decision:  That, in order for further information to be obtained from the applicant demonstrating and justifying the need for the proposed building, the application be deferred.
