Family spring celebrations in Market Drayton
Shropshire Council’s Sure Start children’s centre services are holding sessions during February half-term to celebrate spring at the children’s centre at Longlands Primary School, Linden Way in Market Drayton.
Families with children under five are invited to come along to the sessions, which will take place on Monday 18 February 2013 from 1pm to 3pm and Friday 22 February 2013 between 9.30am and midday.
The sessions are developed to support children’s learning and development, and encourage healthy lifestyles. A wide range of activities will be on offer for families to take part in, including springtime crafts, stories and rhymetime. There will also be Forest School activities where families will get the opportunity to spot the signs of spring together.
Healthy snacks and cold drinks will be available during the sessions and older siblings are welcome to attend with their families.
Ann Hartley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for health and well-being, said:
“This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time learning with your children away from the home in a safe and fun environment. Sure Start runs all sorts of activities which support children’s learning, development and encourage healthy lifestyles.
“We encourage families with young children to come along to the spring celebrations and see first-hand what children’s centres can offer you and your child.”
