Community Tree Scheme delayed

The Community Tree Scheme has become a casualty of the recent snow and ice.

The nurseries that supply our trees and hedgerow transplants have not been able to lift their planting stock while the ground has been frozen.  This means that we will not get time to prepare everyone’s orders before the scheduled collection day, and unfortunately we have no alternative but to delay the scheme. 

The collection day has been put back from Saturday 9 February 2013 to Saturday 23 February 2013.  We recognise that this is the end of half term week, and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but this is the nearest alternative date on which all the collection venues are available.  All other details regarding the location and time of collection remain the same, and participants in this year’s scheme have already been notified of the arrangements for collecting their trees.
