Leader of Council at next LJC meeting in St Martins
A special slot for Councillor Keith Barrow, the Leader of Shropshire Council, to deal with issues raised by the public will be a feature of the next meeting of Gobowen, Selattyn, St Martins and Weston Rhyn Local Joint Committee (LJC) on Tuesday 20 November 2012 at the Community Centre, St Martins, at 7pm.
Previewing the meeting, LJC Chairman Councillor David G Lloyd said:
“This is the opportunity to learn how Shropshire Council is facing up to next year’s budget, to hear the Leader explain arrangements for strategic commissioning, and how ip&e group, the new council-owned company for service delivery, will function.
“It became quite clear at our last meeting that there are all sorts of issues upon which those who attend want to hear the views of, and question, the Leader.”
Those attending will also get an update on the new Oswestry Health Centre, which has now become the base for the treatment of minor injuries and a wide range of other community services.
Councillor Lloyd said the meeting, the first following the election of the new Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia, will also receive a report on local policing matters.
Cash support for a variety of local community organisations will be revealed, and future applicants are reminded that the closing date for the next round is Friday 25 January 2013.
