- Improvements to be made to the site entrance to ensure adequate pedestrian visibility.
Reason: In the interest of highway safety.
Land East of Rowley, Westbury (12/02088/FUL)
Erection of agricultural storage building and formation of access track.
Decision: That, subject to the amended Conditions 2 and 3, as detailed on the update sheet and replicated below, planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
- Condition No. 2 to require archaeological Written Scheme of Investigation.
- Condition No. 3 to be adjusted slightly depending on current negotiations between the agent and Highways.
The Rectory, Church Street, Broseley (12/02112/FUL)
Erection of rectory; improvements to existing rectory; repositioning of boundary wall; and formation of vehicular access.
Decision: That planning permission be refused contrary to the Officer’s recommendation for the following reasons:
- The proposed development, by reason of the loss of the historic open setting to the adjacent listed buildings through the introduction of a substantial dwelling within the garden area, along with the loss of the existing boundary wall to the street, would not make a positive contribution to the local character and distinctiveness and would detract from the character and appearance of the Broseley Conservation Area, contrary to Shropshire Core Strategy policies CS6 and CS17 and the advice set out in Section 12 of the National Planning Policy Framework.
- The proposed development, by reason of the juxtaposition of the proposed dwelling with the existing dwelling to the north, would detract from the living conditions of that existing dwelling through overbearing impacts and loss of privacy, contrary to Shropshire Core Strategy Policy CS6.
Castle Meadow, Linney, Ludlow (12/02372/FUL)
Erection of a dwelling.
Decision: That planning permission be refused contrary to the Officer’s recommendation.
