Ludlow will be rolling out the red carpet later this month when The Prince of Wales visits the town.

His Royal Highness is due to visit one of his charities, In Kind Direct, based in Telford, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, and Ludlow, on Monday 17 September 2012.

In Ludlow HRH will take a walk around the market, visit St Laurence’s Church and officially start work on the town’s Jubilee Gardens.

Members of the public are welcome to gather in the market square for The Prince’s arrival.  People are advised to start congregating from 12.30pm, and town centre roads High Street, King Street and Castle Street will be closed to traffic from 12pm until about 2pm to ensure the safety of everyone who comes out to see the Royal Party.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Algernon Heber-Percy, said:

“We are delighted His Royal Highness is coming to Shropshire again, and it’s very pleasing that the general public will be able to see him when he visits Ludlow.  I hope lots of people take the opportunity to come to the market square and welcome The Prince of Wales to their town.”
