Calling employers: the time is now for an apprentice
Now is the perfect time to offer a school leaver an apprenticeship.
Many young people in Shropshire are deciding what to do next as they leave school having obtained their GCSE results. Apprenticeships are becoming a very popular choice with young people who want to gain training, qualifications and experience.
An apprenticeship grant of £1,500 is currently available from the National Apprenticeship Service to employers recruiting their first apprentice.
Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for economic growth and prosperity, said:
“Investment in skills is vital to future proofing the growth of the Shropshire economy. Employers offering apprenticeships will ensure that their workforce has the practical skills and qualifications their business needs now and in the future.”
