Call for funding applications, Cleobury Rural Local Joint Committee
Voluntary groups and organisations from the Cleobury Mortimer area are being invited to submit their Community Chest and LJC funding applications by the end of August.
People should get their applications in by Tuesday 28 August for initial assessment, with a final deadline for application on Monday 3 September 2012, in time for the second round of the Local Joint Committee’s funding allocation.
Groups and organisations can send completed application forms to Shropshire Council’s community action officer, Tracy Johnson, at Community Action, Shropshire Council, Cantern Brook, Stanley Lane, Bridgnorth, WV16 4SF.
Received applications for this round of funding allocation will be considered before the next committee meeting on Tuesday 23 October 2012 at 7pm at Milson and Neen Sollars Village Hall.
Councillor Madge Shineton, Chairman of Cleobury Rural Local Joint Committee, said:
“We want to reach out to local groups within our geographic area, especially those in the parishes which have projects in the planning stages and those who have not applied for funding before. Please contact Tracy Johnson, our Shropshire Community Action Officer, for information on how to apply for funding to assist your group.
“At our meeting held at Kinlet Village Hall on 12 June, we awarded funding to 1st Cleobury Mortimer Scouts for new equipment, and the South Shropshire Youth Forum for its work in the area. The Community Chest fund awarded St Mary’s Youth Project for their Life Skills project, Milson and Neen Sollars Parish Council to fund a jubilee garden in the village, Milson Parochial Church Council to provide a community programme of events at the church, and Cleobury Country and Chamber of Trade to set up loyalty card scheme.”
