Shropshire Council will shortly be installing two new sections of stone footpath on the Wilfred Owen Green in Oswestry.

Since the completion of the new medical centre a route has been opened up onto the Green which people are now using daily. The new footpaths will link the medical centre and Gobowen Road with footpaths to Coney Green and Shelf Bank.

The improvements are part of the Shropshire Sustainable Transport Project which is part funded by the Department for Transport to encourage walking and cycling.

Local member for Oswestry East, Councillor Martin Bennett commented;

“Linking up with the footpaths already on the Wilfred Owen Green will ensure people easily gain access onto this wonderful area of greenspace in the heart of Oswestry, and make the new medicentre more accessible for those using prams, pushchairs or wheelchairs.
