Castlefields and Ditherington residents to have their say

Related topics: Democracy

Residents of Castlefields and Ditherington in Shrewsbury are invited to have their say on local issues at the Castlefields and Ditherington Community Partnership meeting on Thursday 21 June 2012 at Martin Wilson School, New Park Road, at 7pm.

The meeting has an interesting and varied agenda, including reports on crime and anti-social behaviour trends, as well as updates on the Weir proposals,  news of the Flax Mill Maltings development, and a proposed neighbourhood warden for the area.  Proposals to turn off streetlights will be discussed, and applications for grants will be considered.

The Community Partnership has been arranged by local councillor Alan Mosley to provide the residents and local partner organisations, which include Severnside Housing and West Mercia Police, the opportunity to get together to discuss local issues and raise matters of concern.  At the meeting there will be reports from the local police team, Severnside Housing, streetscene and environmental officers, youth and leisure teams, and Shrewsbury Town Council.

Councillor Alan Mosley said:

“There will be plenty of opportunities for residents to ask questions and raise items to be discussed regarding the local area, Shrewsbury or Shropshire as a whole.   Or you may just want to listen to the proceedings.  The Community Partnership has been in existence for four years and has been very successful in bringing people together, in sharing information, advice and opinions so as to make the area in which we live an even better place.”
