The next meeting of Burnell and Severn Valley Local Joint Committee (LJC) takes place at Stapleton Village Hall on Monday 25 June at 7.30pm.

The LJC are pleased to be welcoming Keith Barrow, Leader of Shropshire Council, to the meeting.  He will be talking to people about changes to the way Shropshire Council will operate in the future, and also will be able to answer any questions.

The LJC are excited to be hearing about how the Diamond Jubilee was celebrated in our communities from each of the 11 representatives from the parish councils.  There were many truly innovative ideas, from a beauty pageant to an opportunity to have your photo taken with a cardboard cut-out of the Queen and pin the tail on the corgi.

Acton Burnell, Frodesley, Pitchford, Ruckley and Langley Parish Plan Steering Group maximised the opportunity to do some really comprehensive consultation with the young people of their area at their massive celebration kindly hosted by Concord College.

Shropshire Councillors Claire Wild and Tim Barker commented:

“We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Stapleton Village Hall, and especially to see the improvements they have made to it as a result of their LJC grant.  We really appreciate that Keith Barrow will take the time to attend our meeting, which will allow everyone the opportunity to better understand Shropshire Council’s future plans.”
