Tips on saving money and healthy living at community event
Advice on saving money and leading healthy lives on a budget will be on offer at a community event in north Shropshire next week.
Shropshire Council’s Sure Start children’s centres are working in partnership with Whitchurch CE Infant School to host the event in the school hall on Wednesday 18 April 2012.
Anyone is welcome to drop in between 2pm and 4pm, and find out more about healthy living for less.
People will have the chance to watch demonstrations on how to cook on a budget, and sample the results. They can also pick up tips on quick and easy meal-time ideas and how to keep the family healthy, as well as easy energy saving ideas to help reduce bills, and advice on family budgeting.
Ann Hartley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for health and well-being, said:
“Children’s centres play an important role in helping parents and improving health and well-being.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for people to sample some great cooking and get some handy tips and ideas on saving money and living well for less.”
Shropshire Council’s Sure Start children’s centres offer services and support for families with children under five years old.
