Sports club information evenings in Shropshire
Shropshire Council’s leisure development team is running a series of information evenings for sports clubs throughout the county from Tuesday 24 April 2012 to Wednesday 2 May 2012.
These are:
- Tuesday 24 April – Oswestry Cricket Club
- Wednesday 25 April – Shirehall, Shrewsbury
- Tuesday 1 May – Bridgnorth Rugby Club
- Wednesday 2 May – Ludlow Cricket Club
All the events start at 7pm, and representatives from sports clubs throughout the county are being invited to attend. Following on from a similar series of meetings earlier in the year, the evenings are aimed at enhancing the contact between leisure development staff and local sports clubs, as well as providing up-to-date help and information useful to clubs, coaches and volunteers.
Items under discussion will include latest information on available grant aid in sport, Olympic Legacy programmes, support for your coaches and volunteers, and making the most of your club facilities and what you can offer.
Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for active and healthy lifestyles, said:
“It is important that Shropshire Council continues to encourage and support local sport clubs with events like these. It will be an ideal opportunity to get up-to-date information and network with other clubs in your local area, so booking on one of our free events is recommended. ”
Pre-booking is required and places will be limited, although more than one club representative is welcome. Anyone interested in attending one of these meetings can reserve a place directly by calling a member of the leisure development team on 01743 255071 or by emailing leisure@shropshire.gov.uk.
