New zebra crossing for Market Drayton
Shropshire Council and its consultants Mouchel are busy widening the pavement and installing a new, raised zebra crossing on Stafford Street in Market Drayton to make the journey to Grove School safer.
Work started on site last week (Monday 27 February 2012) and it’s expected to take a couple of weeks to complete.
Councillor Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for technical services, said:
“I am pleased that this crossing is being installed and that the pavements are being widened. The schoolpupils and their parents will really benefit from it. This has always been a busy route and the zebra crossing offers extra safety for pedestrians walking to school or into town.”
