What do your shoes say about you?
Do you want your feet to be famous? Paul Horton’s photographic installation called “The Feet of the West Midlands” is now showing at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre until Monday 27 February 2012.
The project is based on the theme of a shoe shop, and asks the question “What do your shoes say about you?” It portrays people in the local community in a unique way and allows a glimpse into their lives. Juxtaposed images and an unusual perspective illustrate the county’s wide and diverse society.
People visiting Paul Horton’s photographic installation are offered the chance to pose and have images taken of their feet in their favourite shoes. The work is open to everyone, and is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
There are free digital workshops offered on Saturday 25 February and Sunday 26 February from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm. The aim of the workshops is to encourage people of all ages to learn new skills in digital photography, to give helpful tips on how to use their digital camera, and to invite people to take part in this touring art project across the West Midlands.
