Shropshire Council is inviting residents to come and see a proposed new traffic scheme for St Julian’s Friars in Shrewsbury next week (Thursday 8 December  2011 and Friday 9 December 2011).

The exhibition will take place from 2pm until 7pm on Thursday 8 December and from 8am until 1pm Friday 9 December in one of the new flats at the junction of St Julian’s Friars and St Julian’s Crescent.

Proposals include introducing an alternative one-way system to improve access to the car park and new houses.

Councillor Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for transport, said:

“I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to come along to the exhibition and have a look at the plans.”

Andrew Bannerman, Shropshire Councillor for Quarry and Coton Hill, said:

“I acknowledge the concern of residents over this long-delayed scheme.  Here is a chance to view the proposals and raise issues and make comments.  I shall be there from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday 8 December and 11am to 1pm on Friday 9 December to listen to any residents who wish to talk to me.”
