Want some help finding a job? Work Club will provide you with a place to meet, exchange skills, share experiences, find opportunities, make contacts and get support to help you in your return to work.

Whitchurch Library is hosting a series of free sessions on Wednesday mornings from 8 June to 6 July 2011.

The events are designed to offer help and expert advice to enable people out of work to get back on track.  There are sessions on CV writing (8 June), personal jobsearch plans (15 June), ‘in work’ benefits (22 June), making a job application (29 June) and interview preparation (6 July).

Information will be provided by advisers from, Shropshire Council’s LETS and County Training, Next Step and Jobcentre Plus.

Councillor Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture, said:

“This is a difficult time for people who are out of work, but there is advice available to help you secure a job. A meeting place like this is a great opportunity to help those seeking employment and provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge.”

Gerald Dakin, Shropshire Councillor for Whitchurch South, said:

“With school leavers all wanting jobs there is a lot of competition out there, it is more important than ever to put together good applications and to be able to produce a first class CV. The sessions at the Whitchurch Library will be concentrating on this together with other useful job application techniques.”

Free use of computers and printing facilities will be on offer to anyone coming along.
