Tour de Ludlow 2011 family bike ride

Related topics: Leisure, culture and heritage

The Tour de Ludlow on Saturday 18 June is the fun family bike ride of the summer.

The free 6 mile ride organised by Ludlow 21 in association with Shropshire Council and Islabikes will start at the Millennium Green by Dinham Weir at 11.15am and follow a route along a quiet lane through the beautiful Oakley Park, the impressive grounds of the Earl of Plymouth.

Taking a path under the A49 at Bromfield, riders will enjoy a ‘bring your own’ picnic outside the Islabikes children’s bikes store next to the Ludlow Food Centre. Returning to Ludlow, those feeling energetic can take an optional ‘Lady Halton Loop’ route extension, adding three more miles.

This year’s ride sees a move from a weekday evening to a Saturday, as Ludlow celebrates National Bike Week and looks to increase participation by both locals and visitors.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
