Schools industrial action – 30 June 2011
Two teaching unions* are holding a national day of industrial action on Thursday 30 June 2011 which will affect some schools in the Shropshire Council area. The council is working with schools to provide advice and support, assess the impact and minimise any disruption caused.
As of Tuesday 28 June, the council has been informed that the following 24 schools will be closed to pupils on Thursday 30 June due to this industrial action.

- Oxon CE Primary
- St Andrew’s CE Primary, Nesscliffe
- St George’s Junior, Shrewsbury
- St Mary’s Bluecoat CE Primary, Bridgnorth
- St Mary’s CE Primary, Bucknell
- Trinity CE Primary, Ford
Secondary
- Belvidere, Shrewsbury
- Grove, Market Drayton
- The Community College, Bishop’s Castle
- Thomas Adams School, Wem
- William Brookes, Much Wenlock
Specialist
- Woodlands School, Shrewsbury
At this stage the council has also been notified that another 33 schools will be partially closed.
