North planning committee decisions – 24 May 2011
A summary of decisions made by Shropshire Council’s North Planning Committee at its meeting in Wem on 24 May 2011.
09/00292/MAW – Hangar 3 Eaton Road Childs Ercall
Application: Change of use of existing warehouse to form an in-vessel composting demonstration facility.
Decision: That, subject to the additional condition included in the update sheet and the applicants’ entering into a Section 106 Legal Agreement, planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
09/01955/FUL – Lazy Days Sales Centre High Heath Hinstock
Application: Application under Section 73a of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 for the retention of hardstanding area for the sale of motorhomes and change of use of land and formation of hardstanding for the storage of motorhomes.
Decision: That, subject to the amended condition numbering and updated reason for approval included in the update sheet, planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
That an exempt enforcement report be prepared for Members’ information at a future meeting of this Committee regarding container storage at the site.
10/05220/FUL – Land At Gilmor Aldersey Lane
Application: Conversion of hangar to one two bedroomed live/work unit; installation of package treatment plant and LPG tank and alterations to existing vehicular access.
Decision: That planning permission be refused against the Officer’s recommendation for the following reason:
1. The proposed development does not make a positive contribution to the character of the buildings or the open countryside location and as such is contrary to policy CS5 of the Shropshire Core Strategy.

Application: Erection of an agricultural workers dwelling following demolition of existing (revised scheme).
Decision: That, subject to the amended condition numbering included in the update sheet and the applicants’ entering into a Section 106 Legal Agreement, planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.

Decision: That planning permission be refused in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.

Decision: That this item be deferred until a future meeting of this Committee, to allow the Committee to undertake a site visit to consider the scale of the proposed dwelling.
