Customer feedback rewarded at The Boathouse
Customers at The Boathouse Restaurant, Ellesmere, have been invited to give feedback on their experience and make suggestions on which areas they are interested in, from early evening suppers, to live music, to dinner and dance.
The comment cards introduced in May 2011 are aimed at helping shape the venue’s future. Restaurant manager Kate Taylor said:
“We have tried a few different ideas, and providing music ensemble performances has been very popular, particularly with Sunday lunch. If we can gauge what people want when they visit the restaurant we can develop the restaurant accordingly and programme suitable entertainment.
“Our team review the feedback together and discuss the comments. We are amazed how far some visitors travel and have realised that our popularity is spreading. We have regular visitors that come to us for lunch or to see the herons and have coffee. I have received some beautiful prints of birds on the frozen Mere which we will put on show. We will be holding a prize draw every quarter and the winning entry will receive a complementary bottle of wine with their meal.”
The first prize draw will take place on Tuesday 24 May 2011 with Shropshire Council deputy leader, Councillor Ann Hartley, picking the winner.
Councillor Hartley said:
“I visit The Boathouse regularly and am delighted with how popular it is. I find the service warm and inviting, and the menu choices are excellent. It is good to see how enterprising the facility has become and that customer feedback is being used in such a positive way. Ellesmere is a beautiful town and The Boathouse is an excellent starting or finishing point for people visiting the canal or Cremorne Gardens, the play area and the town, that has a unique range of individual shops.”
The Boathouse has recently been inspected by Shropshire Council under the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. The visiting inspector awarded level 5, which is the highest score awarded under the scheme.
