Company wins new contract at business event

A Market Drayton-based business is celebrating a new contract, won following an introduction at a Meet the Buyer speed networking event in Shrewsbury last October.

Organised by Shropshire Business Board, Telford and Wrekin Economic Board, Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council, the event was organised to encourage small local businesses to work with large local purchasers.

Total Storage Systems has been providing bespoke storage solutions for nine months, but is already supplying a range of large organisations, from hospitals to major retail chains, aerospace companies and, more locally, to Lyreco
and Greenhous.

At the Meet the Buyer event, they were introduced to Hoshizaki Europe who specialise in providing commercial ice machines and refrigeration equipment to the food service and retail industry and were looking to expand their storage facilities.

Tim Holiday, Managing Director of Total Storage Systems, said:

“It was straightforward from start to finish. After speaking to the representative from Hoshizaki, we visited their site, understood their needs and were able to provide a tailored, competitive quote and within two weeks of the Shropshire Business Event we were offered the contract. The installation was completed within a further four weeks.

“The value of the Meet the Buyer event was down to the fact that it attracted many large local companies that other networking events simply do not attract. Our business is looking to grow, and key to this will be contracts with larger organisations, so any opportunity to meet with them is always welcome, and we will be keen to attend other events like this run by the Business Boards and their partners.”

Councillor Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for economy and waste, said:

“This is great news. We’re really keen to support our small local businesses and to help them be successful, so it’s fantastic that Tim and Total Storage Systems found this event to be so valuable, and were able to secure a contract as a result.”
