Blog: Dry January – Patricia Morris
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be issuing people’s experiences about their Dry January Challenge. Today Patricia Morris, Help2Change Service Manager gives us an update about her experience.
First Weekend.
Friday night. Curry with 12 rowdy friends, not quite the same without beer, but managed with water anyway. All the ladies there were doing dry January, none of the men, so competition set in. Boys one side of the table and girls the other.
Saturday was busy, but I never missed it. Someone offered me an alcohol free larger when relaxing in the evening- I can’t tell the difference, and it’s very good.
Sunday evening meal was ok with fizzy water, but I did fancy something tasty to drink, but as I do not drink coffee, what can I have?
I was feeling tempted towards a glass of red wine as the rest of the table had. Then I found it: a ‘chilli chocolate’ hot drink, yummeee.
Chris Evans interviewed someone about replacement drinks for Dry January this morning, he said make it rich and tasty, if you enjoy a red wine, the chili chocolate did the trick.
Back to Monday and de-caffeinated tea is just fine.
Cheers – so to speak.
